Central Peak — Saturday, Mar. 2, 2019

Issaquah Alps > Squak Mountain

We hiked Central Peak the entire way up to the towers.

We arrived at 10:45 am, let the dogs have their initial pee and poo, then began our hike, where they poo'd again immediately even though we gave them a tremendous amount of time to do their double doody.

Anyway, I would say about half way up there comes a gate that prevents horses from going higher on the trail, and that's exactly where it gets difficult

We're both 30, and not couch potatoes so although we didn't have spikes on our shoes, we were able to get up, and down, from the mountain with our hiking poles. We shared a pair for some of the steeper sections, but I used both poles for most of the hike, and would HIGHLY recommend everyone get some because they're an amazing arm workout, and balance ceases to be necessary when using them so great for snowed in trails.

As usual there were the people who felt SO ENTITLED to have their well behaved dog off leash while the rest of us well behaved people had ours leashed, and I promise I will not hesitate to obviously keep your dog from coming close to mine by yelling at it, and you.

Other than that, great hike. We saw one speck of trash which was a tissue, that we packed out for whoever accidently dropped it, but otherwise very clean and beautiful hike.

Bring two bars, or fruit to snack on. One for the top, and one for if you get lost on your way down like we did. ;)
