My friend and I went up new trail and down old trail. The new trail is a gradual climb with a nice boot path but snow pretty much the whole way. The boulder field at the top of this Hike is completely snow-covered and has a path straight up in the snow so it is a bit shorter but much steeper than the summer route. Micro spikes and poles are highly recommended. Going down the boulder field was definitely slushy and slick in areas and easy to lose your footing. The way down old Trail was very slippery in places as well but did not have as much snow as the new trail. Overall a great challenging hike and a beautiful day for it.
