Trip Report

Mount Pilchuck - Winter, Mount Pilchuck — Sunday, Mar. 24, 2019

North Cascades > Mountain Loop Highway
Right now is conditions already not ideal for skiing and not yet ready for running. Road clear for first mile.  Up to "Heather Lake" TH road is total mess because some trucks driving here.
After "Heather Lake" TH it is mix of snow and bare road for another 2 miles. Last 3 miles before Pilchuck TH almost continues snow.
It is not to many tracks going all the way to TH, I see some boot track, snowshoe and ski but they was probably week old.
From TH trail still pretty firm for next mile or so, but after this I see only ski track because  snow deep and soft and you definitely need ski or snowshoe.

Thanks for the Mt. Pilchuck story on your link. Would love to see more of that.

As for drone use, whatever. Please just think of other people and "do unto others
as you would have others do unto you". Beings that most people would like a "drones free
wilderness experience", out of respect for others, turn of your toys. BUT, if you are the
only one up there, have at it! Very cool to see the pictures that the drones were able to offer.

IMHO
