Arrived at the trailhead around 10am to only a handful of cars in the large parking lot. The pit toilet at the TH wins the award for the cleanest one I have encountered. You can tell a lot of hard work has gone, and is still going in spots, into maintaining this trail, it is in great condition. If creepy tunnels are not your thing take the side trail to the left, this is where you’ll find the bridge. The trail becomes paved again about 4 miles in and veers away from the lake, I went about 4.5 miles and turned around for 9 miles total. Lovely scenery and very peaceful.
