This is a beautiful forest trail and my friend and I enjoyed the hike plus finding all the ruins. The chain with metal hand holds is easy to use to get down under the bridge to the trail and it isn’t as steep or as long as I expected. We did this hike in light rain and there were some patches of mud but it was easily doable, just wear waterproof hiking boots and you’ll be fine. There aren’t too many parking pull off options along the road and we got the last spot at 10am and had to walk down the road to get to the bridge; I could see how parking would be extra difficult on a sunny summer day. Take all the side trails and have fun finding the hidden ruins! Toward the end of the trail is a fork to the right that leads down to the river.
