We hiked from Wellington west to Windy Point Viewpoint then back and afterwards explored the short eastern path which totaled about 6 miles. It was so fun to walk through the snow shed and then you go through wildflower filled meadow areas then a dry forest then a lush forest then to a tunnel and then out to the viewpoint. It is very flat but I recommend wearing pants as there are many thorny plants growing into the path. It was way more fun than we expected it to be and we took a lot of photos. Also, the pit toilet at the trailhead was open and in good condition. There were only about 5 cars total at the trailhead on this sunny Sunday and we hardly saw anyone on the trail.
