Skyline Trail Loop — Saturday, Jul. 20, 2019

Sometimes the popular trails are that way for good reasons. With the weather showing clear conditions, I decided to brave Paradise today. I arrived at 8:00 and was surprised how many others were doing the same. Parking at Paradise was easy however.

This was a fantastic day and fantastic trail. I would say the flowers are not yet at peak and I would warn others that the snow has not entirely melted out. Two facts that surprised me. The snow is not too bad but there was one length stretch I saw folks in tennis shoes fall down on.

I combined this with the lakes trail and got about 10 miles out of it. It’s amazing how empty that trail is compared to other areas. I really enjoy this area for its prime location but much fewer people.

Leaving the park, WOW. I have never seen the Paradise entrance that backed up. There were perhaps a 100+ cars waiting to get in around 2pm. Go early and get out!
