We made the trip on Friday with two dads and five kids (2 @ 7yrs, 1 @ 4 yrs, 2 @ 3 yrs) up to the cemetery and back. The flies were a bit annoying and there were few mosquitoes in the wet areas past the mine shift. Kids enjoyed tossing rocks into the mine and scheming up ways to get a camera or a drone down in there (the adults might have liked it more). We did see quite a few snakes, they are harmless, but have a presence none the less.
I didn't see a restroom in the parking area so be prepared for that. We did not hike near the gorge due to the ratio of kids to adults and not knowing what those trails were like.
Good kid hike - coming from a dad of four of the five on the hike.
