Excellent but difficult hike! We started around 11am and began with the Franklin Falls trail down to the waterfall. After we finished that trail, we hiked back out to the trail-head for Denny Creek and began down that trail. We initially thought we'd just go to the river and take a dip... but once we got there we decided to continue going because we heard how beautiful the lake was. This is not an easy hike, definitely need good hard bottom hiking boots or shoes to handle this hike without killing your feet.
The lake was absolutely perfect! Could not have been much nicer. We soaked our feet and relaxed by the lake for about an hour and then began our descend. On the way down we noticed how hard the rocky sections of the hike are on your feet and by the time we finished 12 miles of hiking, we were in a ton of pain. Well worth every second of it though. Strongly recommend this hike, just be sure to bring a change of clothes in case you want to swim and be sure to wear good hiking boots.
Have fun!
