Summerland - Panhandle Gap — Saturday, Jul. 27, 2019

Lead a hike from Frying Pan trail head into Summerland and finally up to Panhandle Gap.  There is still snow the last 300 feet up to Panhandle Gap. Microspikes and good footwear is recommended.

The National Park Service also put in a new bridge at the stream crossing. You can also see the old washed out bridge down the cliff as you make you way to the stream crossing.

Flowers are blooming in Summerland. Marmots and chipmunks were being pests around the group campsite. Please don't feed them!

Weather was partly cloudy up to Summerland. Meany Crest up to Panhandle Gap was in the clouds. ^_^
