Southwest Washington > Lewis River Region
Rail trail trestles and bridges to cross

Rail trail!  There are several access points to this trail which runs from just west of I-5 to the coast.  We began at the Eastern terminus near I-5 where the trail is paved .  It continues over 5 miles before it turns to hard packed, dirt/gravel.  Just past the Adna bridge/trailhead, the pavement ends, but the hard pack dirt/gravel is in great shape and would be easy to continue on bike or pushing a stroller.  We went another mile or so down the trail for a total of about 6 miles one-way.  The trail is flat and in great shape, lined with blooming wildflowers, and ripening blackberries.  The trail crosses train trestles and bridges, over and though the countryside.  This is a nice change of scenery with easy access where you can go as far or short a distance or as you like.
