Dungeness National Wildlife Refuge - Dungeness Spit — Sunday, Aug. 4, 2019

Olympic Peninsula > Northern Coast

This is a magnificent hike. It is very kid friendly and you can enjoy a cool dip in the water. The wildlife sanctuary has great views of the Olympics and glimpses of Victoria Island. Be warned, to go during low tide if you want to get to the lighthouse. Otherwise you will have a hard workout walking the 5.5 miles out on the sand. But when you get there you will lear so much about the area and the lighthouse keepers and the Indian conflicts of the area.
