Thunder Knob — Saturday, Aug. 10, 2019

Did this quick hike while camping at colonial creek - wanted to stretch my legs some more while my camping companions napped after an early morning hike, and this was the perfect trail for that! It's a little on the busier side since it's pretty easy to access from the campground, though there is one creek crossing that involves a balancing act on some logs. From there, it's a steady climb up to the top with some great views of Colonial Peak along the way. At the end of the trail there are two lookout spots, and the first definitely has the best view of Diablo Lake. The colors were incredible and I enjoyed some quiet time up there before some more crowds caught up to take in the view and I decided to head down. All in all, at a pretty good pace and some time hanging at the top, it took about an hour and a half.
