Spectacle Lake — Saturday, Sep. 14, 2019

Began hike at Pete Lake TH. First 4 miles are lovely flat trails to Pete Lake. Ran into campers waking up. Headed out a mile to the Lemah Creek crossing. Got my feet wet and was surprised that the trail was still relatively flat. After about 2 miles you start up lovely switch backs. I was on the PCT and brought some homemade banana nut bread for thru hikers. They appreciated it! Got to the waterfall and about a 1 mile later found a ranger putting up a new trail sign for the turn at Spectacle Lake. She carried it up! After the turn you head down to the lake about a mile and the lake is beautiful. Heading back down a crew of 3 were sawing away all the downed trees! WTA workers were fixing the trail too.
