Beautiful day hiking the Maple Pass Loop. We started the counterclockwise route at 9:45 with mist swirling over the ridges. But by the time we got to the top, there were clear blue skies in all directions. The larch trees are just beginning to turn, so 7-10 days from now they should be in their prime. There were lots of hikers on the trail with cars parked down Hwy 20 for a few hundred yards in both directions. Great to see so many folks enjoying the awesome beauty of the North Cascades.
