Spray Park — Friday, Sep. 20, 2019

Last weekend backpack of the summer!
Friday, Day 1, easy backpack from Mowich Lake Camp Ground to Eagle's Roost Camp on the Spray Park Trail. Gravel road to Mowich is slow and rough, but nothing too tricky or impassable. Spray Park Trail muddy in places, but good condition overall. Chilly night!
Day 2 dayhiked up and over Spray Park, encountering one bear and one buck (or juvenile male elk?). Mountain was gloriously out all morning and the blueberries were like candy. Reports of another bear in Seattle Park area, but we didn't make it that far.
Sunday, Day 3, backpacked back to Mowich Lake from Eagle's Roost. Rain made everything mushy, but trail holds up incredibly well.
So grateful to all the folks who build and maintain these trails!
