Hansen Creek Crystal Trail — Sunday, Sep. 29, 2019

Never promise a child something unless you plan on either doing it or disappointing them.  They don't forget!  After two years of my daughter asking when we're going to the 'crystal mountain' we finally did it.  My friend 'kidz won't hike' and I took our two daughters to this mining area on the side of Humpback Mountain.  Round trip is 2 miles with about 350 ft. of gain.  A great adventure for kids.  From I-90, take exit 47 for Denny Creek. Go south across the river and right on Tinkham Road. In 1.3 miles, turn left on Hansen Creek Road 5510. After 1.6 miles, park on the shoulder where you'll find gated FS Road 5510-120 at the hairpin turn. Walk the road all the way to the end where you'll find obvious trails and digging holes dot the hillside marked by ribbons.
