Mount Rainier Area > NE - Sunrise/White River
Little snow on trail

Today seemed to be the best day of the week, so we hiked to Crystal Lakes in Mt Rainier National Park. The day was clear and sunny.

I flagged this as "no snow"; however, not all the snow is gone from the snow storms we had recently. We did encounter a little snow on the trail about a quarter mile before lower Crystal Lake (see photo), the remaining snow was mixed with bare dirt. There was no need for micro-spikes on any part of the hike today. (Note: weather forecast is for rain at this elevation on Wednesday and then possible snow later in the week).

The lower Crystal lake was partially frozen over (see photo), while there was no ice on upper Crystal Lake.

Mt Rainier can be seen from just a few spots along the trail.
