Crystal Peak, Crystal Lakes — Saturday, Oct. 26, 2019

Mount Rainier Area > NE - Sunrise/White River

We hiked on Saturday, 10/26. Reached at the TH around 10:30 AM and there were two other cars parking there. We hiked to Crystal Peak first then went back and hiked to Crystal Lake.

To Crystal peak: Snow started about 4400ft but well packed all the way to the peak with atmost few inches deep. We brought microspikes but did not use them. Unfortunately, the peak was covered in the cloud and could not see anything...

To Crystal lake: Snow started about 4400ft and continued all the way. The snow was well packed and trails were well marked, so we had no problem finding path to the lake. We were intended to cross Sourdough pass but the cloud was too low and decided not to go further so we turned back.

GPS reads a total of 13 mi with 4600ft elevation gain. All and all, it was a nice hike in the snow!
