Mount Pilchuck — Sunday, Oct. 27, 2019

Road was pretty rough, driving up in our Subaru Outback we went pretty slow and couldn’t believe some of the lower clearance cars that made it. I wouldn’t feel comfortable in anything lower than our Sub, but apparently others did. If you get a mile or so past heather lake it does smooth out. The trail was icier than I anticipated, brought spikes but didn’t use them though. Just relied on our poles, but saw others without poles or spikes make it to the top. The ice did add quite a bit of time to our hike. It was a stunning day though!
