South Cascades > Goat Rocks

I LOVED this hike! Nothing too crazy, just a really nice walk in some beautiful trees to a gorgeous lake! The trail is great, when you start out, go to the right, don't go to the left. That was the only thing that had me a little confused but it's pretty obvious one is used, the other is not. The trail is pretty muddy in spots but otherwise great. I loved that I didn't have to stare at my feet and watch my footing the entire time. There are patches of course that are rooty or rocky but the rest is fairly easy and it's so nice to be able to look around.

The lake was amazing. I got it to myself (or at least where I stopped). The hound and I had lunch, enjoyed the view for a few minutes and then turned around. My only regret is that I didn't bring my backpacking stuff to do an overnight. It was just stunning.

Got to the trailhead at 9AM, plenty of parking. Got back at 12:30PM and there were more cars but still room to park. I only saw one couple once we stopped and it was the same one that showed up at the same time I did. The way down was a different story, there were people coming up constantly.

Please leash your dogs.
