The road to the TH is maintained and no potholes were resent when I drove up.
Arrived late on Wednesday, 4ish, only to find a handful of cars parked. Many of which seemed to be from day hikers. Side note, theres an ATV trail as well, just to the bottom of the TH. Think that's accessible by turning left on the road before going to the trailhead.
Trail had some muddy spots, and there was a decent downed log posing an obstacle on the trail. Can be a little tricky with a full pack, but can be managed by climbing around it carefully.
At the lake, there were plenty of camping spots for a midweek trip, but I did notice lots of trash left from previous campers. Please do practice LNT, so many of these parks remain as wild and enjoyable for many more. Many signs at the guard station dictating a sign in to camp, but I believe that's only to camp beyond the posted wilderness area on the East side of the lake. One thing to note, no slips were available to use.
Stayed for two nights to fish, and I believe the refs are single hook barbless, with size limitations for keepers. Fish seemed active early morning, so keep that in mind. If camping, I'd encourage the far end of the East side of the lake, before the posted permit area.
On the way back (Friday) , passed by dozens of backpackers and hikers, and found the lot plenty fill by 11am. If looking to stay the night, I'd recommend coming early Friday, or midweek. Seems like a popular place.
