It’s a lovely hike overall. Meadows, views, forested areas, gorgeous Lake. But the first thing to mention is that the trip report says it’s 3.75 RT and it’s not. You’ve gotta hike a bit more than 2 miles to actually get to the lake, which makes it an over 4 mile round trip. It’s a pretty hike, but the trail is relentlessly up for first mile and a half, than mostly down for last part till you arrive at Lodge Lake, though not buggy at all passing Beaver Lake. It’s a well delineated trail except for the junction noted in July 3 report. When you are doing the meadow part of hike and get to an I-90 sign up on a tree, take the middle trail that has a line of rocks on the left side, at the opening. Do not take roads to right or left. The wildflowers in the meadow area are nice, Indian paintbrush in orange and red, and others on shrubs whose names I do not know. It does get buggy as you descend towards lake - no mosquitoes though. Small annoying flies.

BethS on Lodge Lake
There is a lot of Spirea up there in the ski area meadows. It's the shrub with clusters of small pink flowers.
