Like other reports, the first part to frozen lake has some various ice patches to traverse. I definitely recommend microspikes and pole(s). Its slushy ice and some of those potential falls feel like you could go glissading unintentionally down the steep side of Sourdough. I would not bring kids on this route or on a backpack carrier at this time— maybe another week. It’s melting fast now. If you make it to Frozen lake, its all snow free after that. And in case anyone is looking to do the Boroughs, there are 6 high ice patches you need to traverse, so you’ll need an ice axe and be able to self arrest.
