Sultan River Canyon Trail — Friday, Jul. 15, 2022

Central Cascades > Stevens Pass - West
Sign on the service road leading to the trailhead

It is a long road in to Spada Lake Dam and Recreation Center but the road both paved and gravel are in good shape.  The trail takes off just before the parking lot up a gated service road 1.2 miles to the actual trailhead.  The trail down from the service road to the creek is in excellent shape.  It is almost paved with the bluish stones often found at this altitude.  The trees are magnificent.

On the long road in we explored several of the gated service roads on either side.  Shooters ignored the signs and left a big pile of litter plus hundreds of shell casings.

It's curious that the shooters still don't recognize that this is the type of thing that gets their favorite shooting areas shut down. Here's a phrase they might understand - "It's like shooting yourself in the foot."

95% of shooters are responsible and clean up their mess. Unfortunately the 5% who don't are bad enough that they ruin it for everyone else.
