Did an overnight on Sunday, July 17 at Tamanos Creek. Pretty cloudy most of the day so didn’t hike up till evening. Passed two groups coming out and was the only person at camp and at the lake the whole time till I hiked out the next morning. Trail good condition to the lake. A couple small snowfields to cross, nothing particularly scary. At south end of lakes trail is completely covered in snow. What I saw did not look treacherous but you would have to have a map/gps to go further and I had no goals beyond the lake so didn’t go far and turned around.
Camp has a couple snow patches on trail that are almost gone and campsites are clear with bear pole and toilet in. Highly recommend this trail/backpack if you have already seen some of the mountain and are looking for something a little less crowded and pretty chill/easy.
