Kendall Katwalk, Gravel Lake - Ridge Lake — Friday, Jul. 22, 2022

Went on an extended day hike to Ridge Lake with a brief trip to the talus field above Gravel Lake. The trail up to Kendall Katwalk is mostly in great condition, just a few blowdowns at times. After the Katwalk, the trail to Ridge and Gravel Lakes is largely covered in snow. Me and my friend didn't have snow equipment and got to the lakes fine without incident, but at times I wished I had trekking poles for the snowfields with elevation loss. Ridge Lake is still covered in snow, but still was a nice lunch spot before heading back. Bugs were pretty annoying during any breaks, especially around the halfway point in the forest.
