Second Beach — Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2022

Olympic Peninsula > Pacific Coast
From the last few steps down the stairs of the trail.

One of the most well-maintained trails I've ever been on, considering the traffic, in Washington State. Definitely steep and a bit of a hike, considering it's only .8 miles out and .8 back. Saw a family with a stroller turn around right away, realizing it was too steep - unsure how people get those big rolling coolers out to the beach, but good on ya! A tiny bit muddy, but a really amazing hike through old-growth to one of the most impressive beaches in the state. Thank you for the effort, WTA!

Parking at the trailhead is a bit packed, but there's overflow not too far away. On a Tuesday afternoon I found a spot in the main lot just fine, wouldn't want to attempt this on a nice weekend though. The trail is pretty small, so passing was a bit tricky - and even trickier if crowds were around! Glad I went when I did, what a beautiful place we live in.
