The road up to the trail is on pretty good condition, some wash boarding but nothing crazy. We started at 8am, and glad we did. It was 43° when we started and 86° by the time we got back to the car. The trail up to the 3 mile mark is straightforward and easy to follow. At the top of the ridge, we chose the left path, to make it easier on the knees. Very rocky, wear a shoe with a solid sole. The lake is completely melted, very clear and there are lots of places to spread out to enjoy the view.
