Central Cascades > Stevens Pass - West
View from the tower

Heybrook Lookout trail is a short inclined hike leading up to the lookout tower, being a 2.6 mile round trip. The parking lot is a gravel shoulder on Highway 2 and there's usually a decent amount of people on the trail during the day. At the end of the trail, there are nice views of the surrounding landscape and mountains. The trail is in good condition through the forest, and it's a pleasant walk uphill. The trail starts out a little steep, flattens out for a bit, and then goes upward until you reach the lookout tower. Walking up the stairs of the lookout tower is fun and it gives a nice vantage point for photos. The top of the tower is locked to hikers and the only way to get up there is by paying a rental fee, which is pretty lame. Overall, the trail is worth checking out because it is short and easy with a interesting tall tower at the end.
