Trip Report

Nolte State Park — Saturday, Sep. 3, 2022

Mount Rainier Area > Chinook Pass - Hwy 410
Deep Lake

Pleasantly surprised with the state park which has Deep Lake at the center. Swimming, picnicking, fishing and a 1.4 mi loop around the lake are the main attractions.  Leashed dogs allowed.

Not busy for a holiday weekend. 1/4 of the picnic tables were still open. Maybe a couple dozen people at the lake swimming.

The park is clean and well maintained by staff. Facilities were clean and well stocked. I passed only 3 people on my double loop around the lake. 2 of them were doing multiple loops as well.

Probably not a destination place for those who live in Seattle. It is a great park to visit if you live locally.

Wide path around the lake.
Beach area with few swimming today.
