Mirror Lake via the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) — Monday, Sep. 5, 2022

A great hike today, excellent weather. Beautiful views. We got to the trailhead at 8:45 and found parking along the road. Right as you get to Mt. Catherine trailhead just before you get to the PCT #2000 the road gets extremely rough. Lots of deep potholes as a warning. We saw several folks on the way up and back but it never felt busy. We were alone on the trial most of the time. We hiked with our 12 yr old son and dog. There are small ponds along the way for some water relief for the dog. We also carried in plenty of water just in case. From start to finish with about a 30 minute lunch and a couple short breaks we got back to the car at around 1:30 with a time of around 5 hours. Did not see too much wildlife besides some frogs at the pond and the fall colors are not quite happening yet.
