Trip Report

Mount Catherine — Saturday, Sep. 24, 2022

Snoqualmie Region > Snoqualmie Pass
Looking north over The Summit

Headed up to Mt Catherine for a short hike and over to Ollalie Meadow after. Averaged 19 MPH on the road in. Did have to pull over once and 1 car pulled over for us on the way out. Past the Mt Catherine TH, is where is gets really rough and is probably the limit for most sedans. It's not a very long walk to the PCT from there though.

We were on a mission to get up quickly as this was short. Passed about 15  people on the way up and had the summit to ourselves for 9 minutes. I'm glad we did because it's not that big up there to share with a few others, let alone 15. Plus, we were free to take random goofy pictures without people in the background. Great views of Rainier and Silver Peak in one direction, Keechelus Lake below, and Red, Snoqualmie, Lundin, Thomson looking north. There were several peak-a-boo views of Granite on the way up too.

Headed down and over to Olallie Meadows to see some colors. Sat for a bite below the meadows in quiet solitude. So peaceful!

Minimal smoke here, but driving back toward North Bend was really bad!

Great pics on Mount Catherine. It’s a gem. Also Ollalie Meadow is beautiful! Do you access taking PCT from 9070 back towards Snoqualmie? How far down the trail is the meadow?
Cheers!

You access via the PCT. Head another 0.2 miles further up the road and the PCT crosses there. Take a right for another 0.6 to the lower end of the meadow.
