As we drove up the road approaching Sunrise, I could hardly believe it was in the high 50's this morning around 930. The line getting into the park wasn't bad at all. (When we came out around 3PM it was way longer and being slowly let in.) What a beautiful day it was, though a little breezy. I've done Dege from Sunrise Point before (the shorter route), but never from Sunrise proper. The views from the roomy top are very nice. Kids were a welcome sight with their energy, wonder and curiosity.
We saw one white mountain goat nearby in the brush along the ridge just N of Sunrise. Only one picture or video of about 12 shots got even his face. He was being very shy or very focused on fattening up for the winter.
Through binocs we could see some of the facilties of Crystal Mtn.
