This is one of my favorite hikes. I was thrilled to take my sister and co-worker with me today to show off the area.
We got an early start and the valley was covered by clouds. The smoke was noticeable, just from breathing it. Once on the back side it was clear, smoke free and gorgeous. The mountains were shrouded in clouds (and smoke).
We went up to the rocky summit and the view up there is always spectacular. Even if you don’t make it up there the view from just below is amazing.
Hoyt got to bring Grogu. It’s his new adventure buddy.
Too many people cutting the switchbacks and the erosion is noticeable and going to be a huge problem soon. Some of the areas right now are tricky to pass. It doesn’t make any sense as the actual trail is so close to the cutting. Just stay n the trail.
