Such a lovely, short but steep hike! The dirt road up is doable in most cars. In fact, we saw a Corolla coming down - just go slow to avoid the many potholes and to minimize the teeth chattering grading. Fall colors are mostly faded now and trail is dry and dusty. That said, it’s a beautiful trail the entire way up, up, up. My girldog, teen son and I enjoyed the quiet and occasional views along the way. Note that almost as soon as you make your way up the short scramble, the edge to the drop is close by. The peak is small but 360 views are fab. Since we started late in the day, about 4pm, there were just a few other hikers so we had the peak to ourselves. We ran the way down which took us only 20 mins! It was a much-needed time in nature and we got the payoff!
