Agnes Gorge — Saturday, Oct. 8, 2022

Central Cascades > Entiat Mountains/Lake Chelan
Hard to capture how impressive the Gorge is

Agnes Gorge is a pretty 5 mile hike at the end of the road outside of Stehekin, Note to get to Stehekin you need to take the Lady of the Lake Ferry from Chelan or Field Point, so driving directions are not needed  Some rental cabins in Stehekin come with vehicles.  We spent a few days at the lodge in Stehekin exploring.  We took bikes with us, there are also bikes available to rent.  There is also a  shuttle that runs to High Bridge a few times a day.  It is a pleasant 11 mile or so bike ride from Stehekin to the end of the road.  At lease 1/2 the road is gravel.

The gorge is pretty spectacular.  At the end of the trail there are the remains of an old suspension bridge that was used as a tourist attraction in the 1940s.  The predecessor to the PCT routed across this bridge.

Remains of a cable car used to haul supplies across the gorge
