My wife, son, and I hiked from Windy Pass to Mirror Lake via PCT. The road to the trailhead (FR 9070) was terrible as usual. We saw only two cars, a truck and an SUV, at the trailhead. We started hiking at 10:30 am. The first half of the trail is rocky and rooty but the second half is better.
We arrived at Mirror Lake around 1 pm. Mirror Lake was beautiful with the view of Tinkham Peak and its reflection. We had lunch and took photos and left the lake around 1:30 pm. We returned to the trailhead around 4 pm. We met a solo backpacker on the way to the lake and a party of four ladies and four doggies on the way back. The air quality was good in the morning but it got worse in the afternoon.
