The bridge is in place and the trail in good shape. It was raining intermittently so of course there were a few puddles. There are still a few caves and some large cracks. We were sitting by the outlet stream and heard a loud crash, and one of the cracks looked a little more open.
It was frustrating that several other people went right up to the caves - one family with little kids was playing on the snow, in spite of all the signs about how dangerous it it.
The trailhead at the site of the old hotel no longer has a restroom but there is one at the other parking lot.

AngMae on Big Four Ice Caves
The danger is real! People have been killed by falling ice outside of the cave as well as inside. A young girl was killed at the caves a few years ago by a chunk of ice falling down the mountain above the caves. She was next to the opening, not even inside, when it bounced down the mountain and killed her. Getting close to them is not wise. I wish people would take the warnings seriously.
