Brief notes about today’s hike:
Scant snow at the start of the trail gradually turns into 18” + at the summit. In hindsight, should have brought snowshoes (had only micro spikes, which I used). Snow really slowed us down ascending. Gaiters recommended.
Trail fairly easy to follow and partially packed down by snowshoers, but still post-holed some.
Did not do the loop.
Cold fog/clouds until the burn, then lovely warming sun and incredible views of Ellinor and Rainier, and a huge cloud pillow below.
