Road was snow covered and icy. 4 wheel drive was helpful. Trail is icy and snow covered, micro spikes were very helpful. Up toward the summit, the snow was about a foot deep. Route finding/map and GPS is definitely required. The last mile was very steep in the snow, you will work up a sweat reaching the beacon. Several blowdowns along the trail, made an interesting obstacle course, but doable. The trail is beautiful all along the creek, so pretty in all of the snow. Views from the summit were great, we ate lunch in the sunshine and watched the clouds roll in. On our decent, it began to snow and we returned in a winter wonderland. We clocked near 7 miles R/T and 2,300 elevation gain.
