Grand Ridge Park — Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2022

Issaquah Alps

WED 30nov2022, upon seeing a weather window of ~3+ hours between ~09:00 - ~13:00 (Seattle & its surroundings), i went to Central Park, Issaquah WA for a ramble to Grand Ridge Park.

~08:45 i arrived at the Parking and i was the only one there. Overcast, windy and chilly 30s_F at the Parking. And calm low_40s_F during my first ~3hrs in the woods, and then got caught by light rain and snow mixed when i was ~1 miles Back from the Parking .. 😅 When i got Back to the Parking, there were 3 other vehicles parked.

Did a "CW Loop" ~8.9 mi ~4 hrs: (P) > (1) > (2) > (3) > (4) > (5) > (6) > (2) > (7) > (P)

Trails Condition:
- the Trails between (P) and South of Grand Ridge Road was damp, wet, with spotty light snow cover by the wayside. There were 2x ~3ft wide Water-Crossing - i rock-hopped carefully and didn't get wet.
- from North of Grand Ridge Road, the Trails and its wayside had more slush/wet snow cover. There were 2 small trees/brush blocking the Trail. All these "obstacles" were passable; i allowed myself more time to traverse safely and cautiously, and my Trekking Poles were helpful. Also, i cleared ~10x small fallen branches/tree limbs that were blocking the Trails.

Going Out/Up, ~1 mile from the Parking, i encountered 1x Dayhiker coming Back. And when i was returning to (at ~1.5 miles) from the Parking, i encountered 2x women Dayhikers coming Up. They were all cheery, courteous and friendly.

Saw a few small birds, but no wildlife. Peaceful, quiet, and lovely solitary walk/ramble in the woods for me 👍😊

Happy Trails and Be Safe 😀
