Beautiful snowshoe to Grand Prospect:
Parking lot: A few sites were cleared, but most parking spots had some slushy snow in them. The loop through the parking lot was bare and wet.
Trail: Mud and slushy snow for the first mile. Going up, we were fine in boots (no spikes). Coming down, the slush had gotten slick. Second mile up to turn off for Stan's Overlook was almost completely snow-covered. We were still in just boots, but was also slick coming down. We'd taken snowshoes off coming down at this point. Spikes would work well for this part of the hike.
We put snowshoes on around the 2-mile point going up. Our trip out and back combined with at least one other person snowshoeing in front of us has made a pretty good track. It was soft in places just off the trail, so glad we had snowshoes. The bridge crossing had a few inches of packed snow on it, so not hard to navigate. There were two places the tracks split and we weren't sure which was the trail and tramped off in the wrong direction before checking our GPS map. We'd definitely need the GPS map if it snowed and covered tracks of those who had gone before us.
