Surprised to be the second car in the "lot" at 8am on a sunny, bluebird Friday morning. There is next to no parking for this trail so get there early, go on a weekday, or have a back up plan in mind if the lot is full. It can maybe hold 10 cars if people park correctly.
We wore snowshoes the whole time because they helped with stability on the snow and I am not interested in post holing. I forgot how much snow and snowshoes make elevation gain so much harder. It was definitely a bit harder than I remembered it having previously only done it in microspikes. But it's so absolutely gorgeous up on the ridge that you just have to focus on all the views. The last push up to the summit is very steep and I can see how it could be hard for people not used to steep snow travel. Crystal clear views at the top and we had absolutely zero wind, which I've heard is rare. Going down was smooth sailing, with nothing to report.
There are no TH bathrooms or actually any bit of privacy along this trail, soooo good luck with your bathroom actions. This is one of my absolute favorite winter hikes and I would do it again in a heartbeat.
