Pratt Connector to Pratt River Trail — Sunday, Jan. 29, 2023

Snoqualmie Region > North Bend Area

I love this trail. This is a sacred place.

I hiked the connector trail to the Big Tree, and a bit beyond.

The section along the Middle Fork is fairly flat and easy to navigate. Once you turn up the Pratt River, the trail is a bit rougher. Plenty of mud and standing water; small patches of light crushed snow. There are places, especially after the big tree, where it would be possible to lose the trail without basic pathfinding abilities. Plenty of spots where you have to go over or under a downed tree. Be cautious standing on these trees - they ice much sooner than the surroundings. On the return, the wet ground had also begun to ice over, which made footing more treacherous. Have fun!
