Gold Creek Pond Snowshoe — Sunday, Feb. 12, 2023

Snoqualmie Region > Snoqualmie Pass

Went early to watch the sunrise and avoid the crowds. We arrived at the parking area around 6am and headed out with our headlamps. The road was a little icy right by the trailhead but we had no issues. We brought our snowshoes but didn’t end up using them as the whole trail was parked down enough we were able to walk fine without them.

We watched the sunrise and ate our breakfast while sitting near the egde of the pond. Most of the pond was frozen over. There were a few snowmen out on the pond and lots of footprints - we didn’t brave walking out on the ice at all. We also walked the loop around the pond. It was very cold but very pretty!

Two or three people came by while we were sitting at the pond during the sunrise, and we saw another handful of people on our way out. If you can handle the early wake up call, arriving early here was a great way to avoid the usual crowds!
