Snoqualmie Region > Snoqualmie Pass
Gold Creek Pond Snowshoe by HokieHiker

Beautiful day today. I was out looking for a new area to explore and was informed about this quick walk, so I popped over. I arrived around 2pm and there was still plenty of parking along the road.

Today, probably due to recent warm weather, snowshoes were not needed. I went a ways in before putting on spikes, but more from a want to walk in them than for any serious need. The trail is well packed and easily navigable.

This is a special quick route. Being on the eastern side of Snoqualmie, the vegetation is a little different, so enjoy the scent of pine and slightly different variety of species. The walk was calm and relaxing, but the din of I90 was ever present in the background.

I mentally bookmarked this spot for friends who want to learn to snowshoe on a flat course and for travel stops in the warmer months when we need to stretch our legs.

Quick and easy, but a quick jaunt to feel like you’ve escaped from the west side of the Cascades. Or to escape a packed Snoqualmie Pass proper…
