That ‘short, steep’ part off the ridge towards Dodger Point looked the same forty years ago. Book you had a page from is a climbers’, not a hikers’ guide. What’s steep to them is impassible to hikers like me.

I agree. It is by no means a trail at that point. You can tell where people go up and down this section, but it is a bite of a scramble.
