Forest road slushy up at the trailhead, but manageable. Arrived at 11:30 to snow/rain mix, turning to complete snow within the first 1/4 mile. After a mile, the trail became completely covered in snow, up over my hiking boots in some places. By mile 2, snow was calf-deep all the way to the lake. Glad I wore my tall gaiters! Pretty foggy, so not much for views. The silence and the falling snow definitely made for a relaxing, magical moment.
I noticed on the hike down that more of the trail was becoming visible, and the snow was changing to rain.
