Sol Duc Falls — Wednesday, Apr. 19, 2023

I’ve hiked to the falls many times, but never in snow! The road to the trailhead was smooth, up until the last couple miles when fresh snow and slush made things just a bit slippery.

The trail to the falls was covered in packed snow and slush the entire hike. In fact, all of the other trails (Lovers Lane, campsites, and lake trails) are all covered in several inches of snow. If you have the right boots and poles you could do it.

If you are not sure footed, best to wait it out. If the weather holds next week, I think this will melt out by May. At least to the falls.
